Hannover Messe 2025

Hannover Messe 2025

Trade fair / March 31 – April 4, 2025, Hannover, Germany / Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft Pavilion: Hall 2, Stand B24

The Hannover Messe will open its doors from March 31 to April 4, 2025 – this time under the motto “Shaping the Future with Technology”. The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft will once again be represented with a joint stand in Hall 2, presenting new technologies under the motto “Innovations for Our Future”.

This year, 13 Fraunhofer Institutes will be presenting exhibits from the following areas:

  • Smart Systems & Materials Efficiency
  • Energy & Circular Economy
  • AI for Industrial Innovations

Fraunhofer INT will also be there again – with four interactive exhibits on future and technology foresight. Find out what type of personality you are when it comes to innovation, what the world would look like if you made technological decisions, let yourself be guided through the Museum of the Future and discover how the future can be predicted using data.

Which technology type are you? – Discover your approach to innovation

How do you approach new technologies and innovations? Are you a pioneer who focuses on new technologies or do you prefer tried and tested solutions? Or is your attitude somewhere in between? Which methods do you prefer for analyzing technological developments?

We would like to answer these and many other questions together with you at our stand. In a short test, you will slip into the role of a decision-maker and make strategic business decisions. The test will show you which technology type you most closely correspond to, what this says about you and what you should pay attention to when it comes to the technological future of your company.

Scenario technique: Experience how decisions shape the future

We know that it is difficult to predict future developments, and not just since the COVID-19 crisis. Fortunately, such dramatic events are rare. But let's be honest: we would hardly have thought many other events possible either, such as Brexit, the sudden bankruptcy of traditional companies like Kodak or the rapid rise of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin.

The limited human ability to see into the future is nothing new. Nevertheless, we should be aware of this, especially when making long-term business decisions.

The good news is that there are methods to systematically analyze the development of markets, industries and companies and to position yourself for the future. One particularly effective foresight method is the scenario technique. It is characterized by the fact that several different – but nevertheless plausible – images of the future are created. Even if the probability of these alternatives occurring is not equally high, it is helpful to put yourself in the shoes of these futures at an early stage, evaluate the associated opportunities and risks and make appropriate decisions.

KATI® – Knowledge Analytics for Technology & Innovation

Scientific progress is advancing and generating new technological options in the world's laboratories every day. It is often no longer possible to keep up with this rapidly growing amount of information. The Fraunhofer INT has developed the KATI®-system to meet this challenge. KATI® is an IT and data-supported assistance system for literature research that also offers extensive and unique analysis and visualization options explicitly designed to support the analysis and evaluation of scientific sources such as publications and patents.

How does the past look in the future? Visit the museum of the future

Not only is the future not yet here, it is also difficult to make tangible. Fraunhofer INT is working on various versions of the future, especially future technologies, to support decision-makers. How can we make these futures and their technologies more tangible? Visit us at our stand and step into our Museum of the Future. On display there are artifacts from the future past. In other words, technologies that lie in our future but are already part of the past in the Museum of the Future. Experience how we are taking the next step in decision support with Immersive Strategic Foresight.
